About
Many varieties side by side, each paying its way.
Little Garden Things is a working garden business in El Dorado Hills, California. We grow plants and make farm-to-table products. We design gardens, coach gardeners, and teach the practice. The operating principle comes from ecology: many varieties side by side, each one paying its way.
The nursery is what we propagate, grow, and finish for landscape designers, wedding venues, retail partners, and anyone who wants a plant that thrives in this climate. We carry what works in the foothills. Heat, soil, exposure, slope, the outdoor rooms people actually live in here.
The farm-to-table line is what comes out of the garden when the plants reach harvest. Syrups, sachets, teas, tinctures, herb baskets. Cut this morning, cooked down today, made in small runs as the herbs come ready.
The garden design work is for landscape designers who need a foothills-literate collaborator, and for community projects. The HART of Folsom community garden engagement is the current foundation work. Plant selection, layout, soil and irrigation, what is blooming next door and what is not ready yet.
Education shows up inside the products. Care cards in every gift basket. Recipe cards with every syrup. Workshops are next on the catalog and not yet live.
Today the customers are landscape designers, retailers, gift-givers, and community partners putting their name on the work. Over time, anyone who wants a plant that thrives.
The same standard either way. Name the variety, name the season, treat the reader as curious and capable, leave the place better than we found it. If a plant or a partnership is not the right fit, we will say so and point you somewhere better.
